Festa returns to take reins from López

AMERICAN LEAGUE

Minnesota Twins
NEWS: RHP Pablo López will miss 2 to 3 months with a shoulder strain.
IMPACT: High
BHQ SPIN: The Twins will shut down López (-8%) from throwing for at least a month before he gets reevaluated. David Festa (+4%) is expected to get the start Thursday for the Twins, which would give the rest of the staff an extra day of rest. Festa had a strong three-start performance filling in for López earlier in 2025, giving up 3 ER over 13 IP. The Twins had a strong starting four with López, Joe Ryan, Bailey Ober and Chris Paddack. Zebby Matthews hasn’t done much over his four starts (ERA over 5.00) as the fifth starter, but the injury to López will likely earn him a little more rope, so we will bump him 2%.
