NEWS: Minnesota activated OF Byron Buxton from the IL and designated C Alex Jackson for assignment.

BHQ SPIN: Buxton returned Thursday for the Field of Dreams Game after his second stint on the IL this season with a hip issue. With the Twins in playoff contention (and adding a few pieces at the trade deadline) they need their All-Star center fielder out there on both sides of the ball. The sense is that he’s not quite at 100%, so there may be a few extra rest days built in as long as the Twins are in contention. But we’re expecting him to be in the lineup most days.
