Introduction
In head-to-head fantasy baseball, your team can have a great week statistically, but still lose to a team that has an even better week. The Equalizer Format compensates for the bad luck inherent in head-to-head gaming.
The Theory
The Equalizer Format has two aims: First, to reward teams that play well but have the misfortune of playing a “hot” team on that given week, and second, to correct for some of the late season unfairness we often see in the fantasy baseball playoffs (think innings limits, star players on non-contending teams who are shut down with minor injuries, etc.).
Unlike the Rotisserie game, head-to-head gamers can’t “bank” stats. Every week, it’s tabula rasa on Monday and a 0-0 score. Because statistics are...
