As with starting pitchers, fantasy managers often overvalue Opening Day lineups. As such, bats who start the season on the bench often can be rostered at a nice discount. Especially those with hidden or emerging skills, since they are likely to carve out full-time roles once an opportunity arises.
Here are more than 40 bats on MLB benches or in Triple-A who could provide value once an MLB roster spot opens up.
AMERICAN LEAGUE
Max Anderson (2B, DET) is a high-contact prospect who hit 19 HR in 552 PA in the upper minors during 2025.
