MIL: Brewer watchers look and say/Can Gamel handle full-time play? Going into camp, the leading candidate to replace departed 1B Prince Fielder looked like 26-year-old Mat Gamel, who has 194 PA in four big-league seasons, with a .684 OPS to show in that small sample. Almost all that PT came in 2009, when he was actually around league average, with a .760 OPS in 61 games and a nice 12% walk rate, but had a woeful 66% ct% that pulled his Eye down to 0.33. His .242 BA that year would have been even lower, but he had a 37% hit rate. He is a career...
