First-year player draft potential rating buckets (2025)

While no prospects were in attendance for this year’s draft at the Coca-Cola Roxy at The Battery Atlanta, I was there, providing live draft coverage for BHQ. For the 2nd straight year, the media had no idea who was going 1.1 until the fleeting seconds before Eli Willits was selected by the Nationals. I wouldn’t characterize it as a surprise, given that he was one of 3 names being discussed around the media section. Still, he was viewed as the 3rd or 4th best prospect in this year’s draft.
