SPECULATOR: Trade deadline, part 3: The aftermath

The trade deadline may have been lacking some luster, but there are still some storylines in the fallout that bear exploration. In no particular order:

Boston—Deep pitching, new left side of infield looming
The Red Sox rotation is now over-subscribed, if and when all members are healthy. Clay Buchholz's injury defers this problem, probably until 2014. But as it stands now (and assuming that a $13M option on Jon Lester is exercised), the Sox will enter 2014 with $64.65M committed to five starters (Buchholz, Dempster, Lackey, Lester, Peavy), plus they will still have Felix Doubront around as a superior alternative to Dempster at about 5% of the price. And that's without considering prospects Rubby De La Rosa, Allen Webster, Anthony...
