GM's OFFICE: Introducing our 100-game projections

This week has been a hopeful week in the baseball media. Ken Rosenthal, Jeff Passan, and Bob Nightengale each published articles centered around the same theme: there is growing optimism that there will be a 2020 MLB season. Nothing is assured, but it's clear that there is significant resolve within the industry to play the most representative season possible.

The specific plans remain fluid, and subject to change, but there are some tentpoles that seem consistent across all sources: a season of 100 or so games; starting in roughly early July and continuing into October, followed by some sort of expanded playoff format that could be contested at neutral sites into November or even later.
