Reigning NL Rookie of the Year Cody Bellinger (1B/OF, LA) entered the season as one of the top 1B options in fantasy baseball, generally going in the back half of the 2nd round in 15-team drafts—based largely on the strength of a 2017 in which he hit .267 with 39 HR and 97 RBI, while chipping in 10 steals in just 480 at-bats. Prior to this week's power outburst, however, his sophomore campaign had not gone as smoothly, as Bellinger sat with a .226/.298/.424 line through the team’s first 60 games.

The offensive struggles had gotten worse with time, as seen in the .180 BA (.230 xBA) he hit across 100 at-bats in May. The power hadn’t completely disappeared (9 HR through June 5), but his drop in PX from 186 (2017) to 114...
