It will be interesting to see what the Rockies do at the trade deadline in many respects, but one position that may be under the radar is catcher. Elias Díaz (C, COL) has had a bounceback season, posting both some decent skills (124 HctX, 105 xPX) and results (.747 OPS). He’s under team control through the 2024 season, and there’s a case to be made for the team to keep him around through that time. There’s also a case for him to be traded. What the team ultimately does could be an indication of the team’s plans for a few of its top prospects.
