It’s September, when school, football, and more football crash the stage and begin elbowing baseball aside to hog the limelight. Fortunately for us—the washed masses—this is when baseball starts to get really good, with contenders focusing on the here and now while also-rans look to the horizon. In this space, we’ll do a little of both, examining a few players who could provide answers for their team’s stretch run and some others who’ll prompt important questions for the offseason.
