PT TOMORROW: NL East—PHI closer situation remains shaky

The closer situation continues to be a mess. Hector Neris (RHP, PHI) and Joaquín Benoit (RHP, PHI) have both had their share of struggles since Jeanmar Gómez (RHP, PHI) was removed from the closer role on April 10. As of now, it appears as though Neris is still manager Pete Mackanin’s choice to close out games, despite a stretch of shaky outings in late April.

We still like Neris to succeed in the long run. His biggest problem has been the longball, but bad luck has played a part (overall 22% hr/f in 15 IP). He has displayed the best skills of the relief corps (124 BPV), narrowly edging out Edubray Ramos (RHP, PHI).

Benoit has the superior ERA (2.63), but he has been quite fortunate (14% H%, 82% S%, 4.07 xERA and...
