With Neil Walker (2B, NYM) expected to miss several weeks with a partially torn left hamstring and Asdrúbal Cabrera (SS, NYM) sidelined with a left thumb sprain for an unspecified period of time, the Mets have resisted the urge to promote prospect Amed Rosario (SS, NYM). They instead recalled Gavin Cecchini (2B/SS), as covered by Phil Hertz in the June 15 PT Today, and opted to go with José Reyes (SS/3B, NYM) and T. J. Rivera (1B/2B/3B, NYM) to fill the lineup voids. Manager Terry Collins then announced on June 19 his decision to move Wilmer Flores (1B/2B/3B, NYM) from third base to second base, saying Flores is more comfortable at second.
