Seranthony Domínguez (RHP, PHI) emerged as the primary closer for Phillies in 2018, though his 16 saves accounted for only 36 percent of the team’s total. The recent signing of David Robertson (RHP, PHI) suggests save opportunities will again be splintered among several pitchers in 2019.

While Robertson only earned nine save opportunities in 2018 due to the deep Yankees’ bullpen, he has proven capable of succeeding in the role in the past. He recorded 30 saves or more from 2014 to 2016 and also served as the White Sox closer in the first half of the 2017 season.
