The Mets, with their glut of high-priced, aging and/or injury prone stars, appear to be one of the biggest winners in the NL DH sweepstakes. Yoenis Céspedes (OF, NYM) and Robinson Canó (2B, NYM) are absolutely tailor-made for the role, though there are others who could benefit as well.

Seriously, how much of a godsend is it that Cespedes—now reportedly healthy after coming back from twin heel surgeries and a wild-boar-induced ankle fracture—will have the luxury of not having to play the field more than a couple times a week while still getting his hacks? While it’s certainly the best possible setup, the truth is, no one can be sure how he’ll perform. We’d like to think he’ll return to being at least a reasonable...
