The Braves signed Bartolo Colón (RHP, ATL) to a one-year, $12.5 million contract back in November with the hope that he would provide some stability to a starting rotation that amassed a 4.87 ERA in 2016. The 44-year-old has been an extreme disappointment thus far, posting a 6.96 ERA and failing to complete more than five innings in six of 10 starts. If he doesn’t show signs of righting the ship in his upcoming June 3 start, there’s a good chance he’ll be removed from the starting rotation.

As we discussed on May 9, Lucas Sims (RHP, ATL) and Sean Newcomb (LHP, ATL) are the most interesting candidates to potentially step into any starting rotation void.
