The Mets just got hit with a record $101 million luxury tax for a team that finished fourth in the National League East, which is a good reminder that big contracts to veteran stars doesn't guarantee a championship to any team. As if that reminder wasn't bad enough, they also lost star prospect Ronny Mauricio to a torn ACL during the Dominican Winter League.
