The team had two deals in place this off-season that would have sent Brandon Phillips (2B, CIN) elsewhere, but each time, he invoked his no-trade clause. José Peraza (OF, CIN), ranked as the number 62 prospect in baseball in the Minor League Baseball Analyst, would have been the primary beneficiary had Phillips been traded, but instead he'll have to battle for playing time at a variety of positions. 

Peraza was a shortstop prior to 2014, but hasn't played there much over the past two seasons, though the Reds still view him as an option. He has made the transition to second base, and added center field to his resume, appearing in 18 games there in 2015. Manager Bryan Price has indicated that he sees Peraza as an impact...
