Jonathan India (2B/3B, CIN) wasn’t able to immediately translate his spring training success into the regular season. He’s shown signs of life recently, hitting .328/.446 with seven extra-base hits in his last 20 games (through Saturday). Even so, the impending return of Joey Votto (1B, CIN) and Mike Moustakas (2B/3B, CIN) will complicate India’s path to playing time. The decision point appears to be whether Bell will shift Eugenio Suárez (SS/3B, CIN) back to shortstop, leaving open third base for Moustakas and second base for India.
Recent indications suggest that will be the case and India can expect to continue to receive regular playing time. In addition the improved production, teammates and coaches alike have taken...
