PT TOMORROW: NL Central—Hamilton off to slow start

Cincinnati Reds

Billy Hamilton (OF, CIN) got off to a very slow start, collecting just two hits in his first 22 at-bats. He delivered with a big game April 9, when he tallied three hits, as well as his first two steals of the season. Manager Bryan Price appears committed to giving Hamilton an extended look, and both his strong defense and the lack of superior options on hand work in his favor.

With anything close to a full-time role, Hamilton would be a good bet to match or exceed our current projection of 77 stolen bases. That being said, despite the massive upside he possesses, Hamilton's .308 on-base-percentage at Triple-A last season shows why his playing time is far from certain.
