In contrast to the rest of their division rivals, St. Louis has been active this offseason as the club looks to consolidate its assets and improve the middle of its lineups. Swapping Marcell Ozuna (OF, STL) in for Stephen Piscotty (OF, OAK) in two December trades following Giancarlo Stanton’s (OF, NYY) veto of a trade that would have sent him to St. Louis was a first step in this direction—and very well might not be the last.

The club signed Miles Mikolas (RHP, STL) to a two-year deal after he spent the past three seasons as a dominant starter in Japan after his stateside pitching career had stagnated. He looks to be the early favorite for fifth starter, so long as St. Louis doesn't add another starter in free...
