The absence of Corey Knebel due to an April 5 hamstring injury has created a void in the back-end of the Brewers bullpen that has not been easily filled. Doug Dennis looked at this situation in Bullpen Buyers Guide on shortly after Knebel went down. The combination of Jacob Barnes (RHP, MIL) and Matt Albers (RHP, MIL) managed to blow three saves in the first week. Knebel was expected to miss 6 weeks, which places his return date in the latter half of May. Until then, the Brewers look like they’ll employ a closer-by-committee approach.

Barnes, Albers, and Josh Hader (RHP, MIL) have each since recorded at least one save. Hader’s first two career saves both came in two inning appearances. Hader’s been lights out, striking...
