Aramis Ramirez (3B, MIL), out since May 10 with a strained hamstring, is making progress towards a return. He fielded ground balls on May 27 and 28, and manager Ron Roenicke has indicated he'd like to see Ramirez head out on a rehab assignment. But he declined to go so in a similar situation one a season ago, and has the right to do so once again. Barring a setback, it's looking like he'll be back during the first week of June, at which point he will reclaim the starting third base job.

The return of Ramirez is likely to cut into the playing time of both Mark Reynolds (1B, MIL) and Lyle Overbay (1B, MIL). Reynolds has been seeing plenty of action at third base lately, but will move back to first base, where he started...
