The Cubs made a number of upgrades to their lineup this offseason, but third base remains unsettled as the team heads into spring training. Patrick Wisdom (3B, CHC) started the majority of the games at the position last season, and most likely will occupy the hot corner to begin the new campaign. The bigger question is can he hold on to the job as he has managed ct% marks of just 55 and 61 in the last two seasons. While his power is legitimate (212 and 174 PX past two seasons), he is the definition of an empty power bat (career .301 OBA). He is also a negative with the glove (-6 DRS, 1st percentile outs above average). At the age of 31, there isn’t a reason for the Cubs to remain particularly steadfast in dedicating playing...
