PT TOMORROW: AL West—Whither C.J. Cron?

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim

C.J Cron's (DH/1B, LAA) Triple-A demotion resulted from a confluence of factors evident to those paying close attention. Already burdened with a shaky rotation that excluded recently DL'd C.J. Wilson, the Angels had just finished a 16-inning Friday contest that sapped their entire bullpen along with #5 starter Héctor Santiago. To make matters worse, SS Erick Aybar also sustained a groin injury the same night that still had him day-to-day as of Monday. With fourth OF Collin Cowgill also new to the DL, the Angels were looking for defensive versatility, a roster spot to accommodate newly-acquired Huston Street, and at an opposing schedule of almost exclusively right-handed SPs over the next 8-10 games.
