This club's ongoing success has been primarily built on its rotation, long one of MLB's best, and they're entering the week with a 3.06 ERA that is second only to the Dodgers among MLB clubs. Things could remain that way even if the team can't come to terms on another (very) short-term deal with Justin Verlander (1.84 ERA through 154 IP) as he approaches age 40, after sitting out almost two seasons with Tommy John surgery. Everyone else in what is currently a six-man rotation (minus Verlander on the IL with a calf injury) is under club control, including rookie Hunter Brown (RHP, HOU)—whose outstanding Triple-A season suggests he has nothing left to prove in the minors. With or without Verlander, the rotation will again...
