PT TOMORROW: AL West—PT turmoil in TEX?

Texas Rangers

Future HOFer Adrián Béltre's (3B/DH, TEX) advancing age, gimpy legs, disappearing production, and expiring contract have combined to put his club  between a rock and a hard place. Beltre has not only been forced to the DL three times since August 2017, but as noted recently in our Facts & Flukes space, his production is showing signs of across-the-board slippage. With just 4 HR through 231 AB, the 39-year-old Beltre's power has been MIA all season. And though his BA (.286) has held up thus far, a career-low 76% ct% is well down from his norms, and propped up by 36% h%. Beltre's current 9-for-49 stretch doesn't bode well for his 2H performance or playing time.

Beltre's public statements suggest that he's not yet thinking...
