Apart from their two top position players now sharing the catcher/DH spots (profiled here last week), the A's fielded a Tuesday, August 23 lineup in which long-time bench bat Chad Pinder (.236 BA through 303) was the only other hitter with a BA over .230. 1B/OF Seth Brown (.718 OPS through 406 PA) was the only hitter in the lineup with an OPS above .700.

Seemingly about to return from the IL (Grade 1 oblique strain) soon, outfielder Ramón Laureano has at least shown more ability than his current .223/.300/.395 line suggests, and he leads the club with 12 SBs, third with 10 HR despite being suspended for the season's first month. But apart from Laureano's pending IL return, there's nothing about to arrive from Triple-A that...
