PT TOMORROW: AL East—Torres to pinch others’ PT in NY

The big news in New York is, of course, the arrival of top prospect Gleyber Torres (2B, NYY).

While Torres has played third base (eight games, seven starts) more than second base or shortstop (three starts each) during a hot start for AAA-Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (17-for-49, .903 OPS), manager Aaron Boone has said that the team’s “general” plan is to play Torres every day at second base.

It makes sense that New York would not want to disturb the progress of another youngster, Miguel Andujar (3B, NYY). After a slow start, Andujar went 9-for-20 in a five-game stretch from April 13-21, with all but one of the hits going for extra bases (5 2B, 3B, 2 HR).
