Yes, Kevin Gausman (RHP, BAL) was demoted to start the season. But if his first start for AAA-Norfolk is any indication, he won’t be down for long. Gausman struck out six while walking two and yielding three hits over 4 2/3 scoreless innings.

Where Gausman’s opportunity might come from remains to be seen, but at least a couple of members of Baltimore’s rotation got off to rockier starts to their season.

Perhaps the most tenuous is Miguel González (RHP, BAL), who dealt with back spasms and a line drive off the leg during the spring.
