Unlike their division mates — three of them contenders, the other clearly rebuilding — the Yankees’ trade-deadline posture remains to be seen.

To be sure, virtually everyone expects them to part with Aroldis Chapman (LHP, NYY), a free agent at season’s end who figures to be high on the list for teams looking to win now. Indeed, as this column was being written, Chapman-to-the-Cubs rumors were swirling.

Beyond that, however, it remains to be seen the degree to which the team will purge its veterans and infuse the organization with youth.
