Davis Schneider (2B, TOR) and his world-class mustache continue to make a case for a role with the Blue Jays in 2024 and beyond, and Toronto would seem to have a place to put him in second base.

Even if the team arranges to bring back Whit Merrifield (OF, TOR), Merrifield could continue to play a corner outfield spot, as he has done about half the time in 2023. Whether Toronto deems it worth $18 million to exercise the option in Merrifield’s contract remains to be seen, though the team and Merrifield could also strike a deal to extend their relationship — perhaps for additional years at a lower average annual value.
