PT TOMORROW: AL East — Big(gio) plans may not be final in TOR

Toronto Blue Jays

Only time will tell if Cavan Biggio (2B, TOR) and Lourdes Gurriel (2B, TOR) are the calvary or just another ineffectual shake-up to a moribund offense even beyond the mighty powers of Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (3B, TOR) to fix single handedly.

The timing of the call-ups of each are curious in one sense: After torrid stretches, each had cooled down a bit recently at AAA-Buffalo, Biggio slashing .246/.358/.333 with no homers in his last 16 games, and Gurriel experiencing a similar power outage: no homers and a .183/.206/.250 line in his last 15 games.

Also curious is where, exactly, Biggio and Gurriel will wind up logging the bulk of their playing time. At least one of them — Biggio more often, perhaps? — will have to start...

Almost!
