The “sure things” in the Tigers infield? Willi Castro (SS, DET; pictured above) will be the regular shortstop, Jeimer Candelario (1B, DET) and Jonathan Schoop (2B, DET) will be regulars, but not necessarily at their home positions, and Niko Goodrum (3B, DET) may find AB all over the diamond. Other than that, role assignments remain in flux. 

Castro’s strong spring (.302/.346/.571 in 49 AB) following his mini-breakout in 2020 (129 AB) locked up the projected playing time at short, making Isaac Paredes (3B, DET) a casualty of the roster crunch.
