PT TOMORROW: AL Central—Hanley Ramirez lands in Cleveland

After being released by the Boston Red Sox on May 30, and then failing to catch on anywhere through the remainder of the 2018 season, Hanley Ramírez (DH, CLE) has landed in Cleveland where he is currently slated to get less than a full season of at-bats as the designated hitter. His 25 R, 6 HR, 29 RBI, .254 BA in 177 at-bats with the Red Sox underwhelmed and Ramirez will have to improve across the board offensively to earn more playing time.

As recently as 2016, he put up a slash line of .286/.361/.505, garnering him a 126 OPS+ on the year. That level of production is behind him now, but there may yet be something in the tank as he edges toward a 300 HR/300 SB for his career. He may not reach those levels, but it’s a...
