In an April 10 mlb.com article, beat writer Scott Merkin featured Matt Albers (RHP, CHW) and the increased confidence the coaches had in him. Albers spent most of the 2015 season working the 5th through 7th innings, but he leveraged a heavy groundball profile into 8th inning situations in September and October. He picked up all six of his holds during those final two months.

Albers continued the momentum into 2016 spring training with no ER in 8.2 IP. Although he had a 6.8 Dom with a 7% SwK% and a fastball that fell below 90 mph in 2015 (career low), he struck out eight with an uptick in velocity in the spring. It's carried over into the regular season with five shutout innings, three holds, four K, and a pitch...
