PT TOMORROW: AL Central - Ryan set to rejoin Minnesota rotation

Minnesota Twins

Joe Ryan (RHP, MIN) has been out since early August with a groin strain but is set to return over the weekend. He got up to 71 pitches in his lone rehab start at Triple-A, where he allowed 1 ER in 4 IP with 7 K. He had a crazy run of starts prior to hitting the IL. Ryan whiffed 52 batters in 32.1 IP across his last seven starts but allowed a whopping 17 HR and 31 ER (8.63 ERA) during that time. It appears he'll face a tough Texas lineup in his first two starts off the IL, but he should soon resume his role as a reliable option for the stretch run.

The Twins hold a 4.5 game lead in the American League Central and it's not clear at this point if Ryan will bump someone from the rotation or if they will go with six starters...
