AL Central—Loftin set to make case for roster spot

Michael Massey (2B, KC) was serviceable as a strong side platoon at second base in 2023. He got on base at just a .274 clip on the season, but after recording a woeful 67% ct% in the 1st half, he bumped it up to 84% in the 2nd half. Massey appears to have the upper hand on the same role heading into 2024, but he'll have some competition and will need to perform well to lock down the job.

One other potential option at the position is Nick Loftin (2B, KC), who held his own in his small sample debut a season ago. He hit .323 in 68 PA, though a 40% H% certainly helped and his power metrics were underwhelming.
