PT TOMORROW: AL Central — Harrison an unheralded fit for the Sox

It seems the Sox have found their second baseman for 2022 with the signing of Josh Harrison this week. Harrison has some sneaky appeal for fantasy managers on several fronts:

  • First, his past two seasons have been his best from a plate-skills perspective, notching the two highest batting eyes of his 11-year career. Both his walk rates (6%-7%) and contact rates (85%) have improved off his mid-career levels. 
  • Second, he re-established himself as a full-time player in 2021, with 558 plate appearances between Washington and Oakland and a .279 BA/.341 OBP. While not hitting for over-the-fence power, he was a doubles machine (33 last season).
