NL West: Jordan Lawlar's bright future

Arizona Diamondbacks

With Geraldo Perdomo named as the Diamondbacks Opening Day SS and Eugenio Suárez slated to be everyday 3B, top SS prospect Jordan Lawlar is expected to start the season at Triple-A Reno. If he isn't an MLB starter, the Diamondbacks want him to get regular at bats and play SS every day.

With less than 600 PA above High-A, Lawlar predictably struggled at the plate in limited action with the Diamondbacks last season (.129/.206/.129 in 34 PA). These numbers were significantly weaker than the numbers he put up across 410 PA at Double-A Amarillo (.263/.366/.471 with 15 HR and 33 SB) and 80 PA at Triple-A Reno (.358/.438/.612 with 5 HR and 3 SB) prior to his September call-up.
