NL Central: Rotation shakeups are on the way

Even after losing Justin Steele (LHP, CHC) to a hamstring injury on Opening Day, the Cubs have had a well above-average starting rotation as measured by both SIERA and K-BB%. With Steele set to return Monday against the Padres, the team isn’t necessarily in need of reinforcements in the rotation. Even so, it’s worth taking note of Cade Horton’s promotion to AAA Iowa last week. The team has moved him aggressively throughout his minor-league career, as he has progressed from a third-year college draftee to pitching at the highest level of the minors within 22 months.
