DIVISIONAL OUTLOOK: NL Central—Gallardo set to return

Recent reports on Yovani Gallardo's (RHP, MIL) rehab have been positive, leading many to believe he will be activated from the DL very shortly. Gallardo will likely take the spot of either Tyler Thornburg (RHP, MIL) or Tom Gorzelanny (LHP, MIL), with Thornburg being the probable choice. Despite Thornburg's rotation success in a small sample against the Cubs (PQS-5), Giants (PQS-4), and Rangers (PQS-3), his 0-9 record and 5.79 ERA at AAA-Nashville this year will likely leave him as the odd man out. Gorzelanny has put up a 2.61 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, and 30/7 K/BB ratio in six starts since joining the rotation in early July.
