DIVISIONAL OUTLOOK: AL Central—Alex Presley to lead off for MIN

The Twins traded franchise icon Justin Morneau (1B/DH, PIT) for Alex Presley (OF, MIN) (pictured above) and a player to be named later. Morneau’s departure had been anticipated because of his impending free agency. Presley will have an immediate opportunity to impress as a leadoff hitting centerfielder. He has a .264 career BA in 660 major league AB, but has hit .309 in over 1200 Triple-A AB. Presley also has speed potential, although his 140/137/138 Spd over the last three seasons has yet to translate to significant SB totals. Presley’s arrival means Clete Thomas (OF, MIN) will lose his starting job.
