Even when teams are sellers at the trade deadline, there can be some winners for potential playing time. The Angels moved on from a few relievers in Ryan Zeferjahn and Kirby Yates, a starting pitcher in José Soriano, as well as a couple of outfielders in Jorge Soler (DFA’d) and Jo Adell. The bullpen and the starting rotation will continue to be in flux, but the lineup takes a big twist, and it may not even be at the outfield position.
Sure, Josh Lowe and Wade Meckler could see more time in the outfield with Soler and Adell out of town. The Angels can also look to give some young options at Triple-A a chance, but that’s not what interests me. In one of the trades the Angels made with the Cubs, they received Moisés...
