Webb in, Mahle out as Giants shuffle rotation

NEWS: San Francisco placed RHP Tyler Mahle on the 15-day IL with a left hamstring strain and activated RHP Logan Webb from the 15-day IL.

BHQ SPIN: The Giants played some rotation musical chairs, activating their ace, Webb, following a three-week IL stint with knee bursitis, and swapping him on the IL with Mahle. Webb struggled with inefficiency in his return, failing to complete five frames, but some of that can be blamed on rust and pitching Coors. He’ll return to being an innings eater as soon as his next start. Mahle has struggled all year with a 6.04 ERA through 11 starts, but it’s unclear if the hamstring issue is to blame for that or if it’s a more recent injury. Either way,...
