NEWS: Pittsburgh optioned closer David Bednar to Triple-A Indianapolis, designated C Jason Delay for assignment and added RHP Thomas Harrington.

BHQ SPIN: The 30-year-old Bednar (-2.5% PT, -55% saves) struggled in 2024 (7 blown saves) and nothing appears to have changed in 2025. He opened the year as the closer and responded with a 27.00 ERA through three games, which included two losses and a blown save. He was scored upon in each appearance. Now, he will work on finding his former All-Star form in the minors. There are no reports of injuries, and other reports indicate the velocity remains.
