NEWS: Arizona activated OF Lourdes Gurriel Jr. from the 10-day IL and designated 1B Luken Baker for assignment.
IMPACT: High
BHQ SPIN: Gurriel opened the season on the IL, still recovering from the torn ACL he suffered last September. He’s been a key member of the DBacks offense over the last three years and will immediately slot into the lineup in left field. Expect him to see some time at DH to keep him off that reconstructed knee as much as possible. His return will force Jorge Barrosa to the bench where he’ll likely platoon with Alek Thomas in center field. Baker was removed from the 40-man roster after appearing in just five games.
