NEWS: MLB suspended José Alvarado for 80 games for a PED violation.

BHQ SPIN: Alvarado has been a key member of Philadelphia’s closer-by-committee group. He will be unavailable until the second half of August so we’ve cut his playing time projection to 1.5% and left him with a token save projection. The main beneficiary of Alvarado’s absence is likely to be Jordan Romano. He struggled early this season, but has not been scored on since April 23rd. During that period, he’s thrown six innings and allowed only a walk and three hits while striking out nine. Given his history as a successful closer, he’s likely to get the bulk of Philadelphia’s save chances going forward, and...
