NEWS: Closer Emilio Pagán continues to convert save opportunities.

BHQ SPIN: Pagán (+10% Sv) has been rock solid as the Reds’ ninth-inning option, converting five of six chances and posting spectacular ratios as well (2.38 ERA 0.44 WHIP). There are cracks in the facade (4.34 xERA), but his 20 K-BB% and 12.9 Swk% largely support his results. Alexis Díaz (-10% Sv), on the other hand, doesn’t appear to be sniffing the closing gig anytime soon. Since he’s returned, he’s got more walks than strikeouts (4 BB: 2 K, 4 IP) and is making the Forecaster’s “DN: 4.75 ERA, <15 Sv” look quite prophetic.
