Nacho Alvarez summoned to Atlanta in wake of Riley injury

NEWS: The Braves placed third baseman Austin Riley on the 10-day IL with a strained right abdomen and recalled infielder Nacho Alvarez from Triple-A Gwinnett.
IMPACT: Medium
BHQ SPIN: We’ve cut Riley’s playing time projection from 95% to 80% while we see how his injury timeline plays out. Alvarez had an eight game cup of coffee with Atlanta in 2024. He had missed much of this season with first a wrist injury and then an oblique injury. He’s expected to play a utility role and share time at third base with Luke Williams.
